Job Description
The mandate of the Board is contained in section 59 of the County Government Acts 2012. These include establishing and abolishing offices in the County Public Service, appointing persons who hold and act in offices of the Publi10c service among others. Achievements For the time the Board has been in office it has managed to put in place critical structures to enable the County Government to operate efficiently Targets To ensure that all the Departments have adequate staff to enable them deliver services. Projects Development of appropriate policies, values , standards, systems and processes inhuman resource management and development Capacity development and management of human resource Event The Board is currently undertaking recruitment of staff for the department of public works and that of Finance and Planning. Requirements for Appointment
- Have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Building Economics and Management/Building Construction/ Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Have proficiency in computer applications for preparation of Bills of Quantities and drawings (EXCEL, ARCHICAD, AUTOCAD; and
- Must be a member of Architectural Association of Kenya or a relevant professional body.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for general inspections of building work at various stages, surveys of potentially dangerous buildings, Interpretation of Architectural and Engineering drawings;
- Carrying out regular inspections of building work at various stages;
- Carrying out surveys of potentially dangerous buildings;
- Checking minor repairs and alterations of existing buildings;
- Assisting in planning and supervision of building projects;
- Assisting in Preparation of Bill of Quantities for construction/building projects; and
- Preparation of sectional budget proposals.
