Job Description

The mandate of the Board is contained in section 59 of the County Government Acts 2012. These include establishing and abolishing offices in the County Public Service, appointing persons who hold and act in offices of the Public service among others. Achievements For the time the Board has been in office it has managed to put in place critical structures to enable the County Government to operate efficiently Targets To ensure that all the Departments have adequate staff to enable them deliver services. Projects Development of appropriate policies, values , standards, systems and processes inhuman resource management and development Capacity development and management of human resource Event The Board is currently undertaking recruitment of staff for the department of public works and that of Finance and Planning. Requirements for Appointment:-
  • Must be a Kenyan citizen;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
  • Be registered as a graduate member of engineer’s registration Board of Kenya;
  • Must possess computer proficiency Certificate;
Duties and Responsibilities:-
  • Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner;
  • Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other);
  • Prepare structural designs and engineering drawings for buildings, roads, water and waste water facilities;
  • Preparation of bills of quantities and estimates for road works and other infrastructural projects;
  • Review of structural designs and drawings submitted by private developers for approvals;
  • Supervision and inspection of roads and building construction works within the Municipality;
  • Inspection of facilities and preparation maintenance procedures for completed infrastructural projects;
  • Conduct site supervision for Municipal projects including roads, water and building projects and preparation of status reports;
  • Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications;
  • Monitor progress and compile reports in project status; and
  • Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.
