Parliament Building Works Inspectors Jobs in Kenya

The Parliamentary Service Commission wishes to recruit energetic and results-oriented individuals to fill the following vacancies:

Superintendent (Building Works)

PSC Scale: PSC 9

1 Position

V/No: 09/2020

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

A Superintendent (Buildings) will be in charge of building works in a large unit and will be responsible for the following;

(i) Construction and maintenance of buildings including walls, joinery, masonry, architectural fittings, furniture, roofs, painting, and car parking;

(ii) Training staff working under him;

(iii) Supervision and co-ordination of a number of small units.

(b) Requirements for Appointment:

For direct appointment to the grade of Superintendent (Buildings), candidates must have attained a Bachelors degree in Architectural, Building Construction or Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution or its approved equivalent;

(i) Have satisfactorily served as Inspector I PSC 8 or its equivalent for at least three (3) years; and

(ii) Have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in areas of building construction and maintenance.

Inspector I (Building Works)

PSC Scale: PSC 8

1 Position

V/No: 10/2020

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

An Inspector I (Buildings) will be in charge of building works in a large unit and will be responsible for;

(i) Construction and maintenance of buildings including walls, joinery, masonry, architectural fittings, furniture, roofs, painting, and car parking;

(ii) Training staff working under him;

(iii) Supervision and co-ordination of a number of small units.

(b) Requirements for Appointment:

For direct appointment to the grade of Inspector I (Buildings), candidates must have attained the Higher National Diploma in Architectural, Building Construction or Civil Engineering from the Kenya National Examinations Council or its approved equivalent.

Inspector II (Building Works)

PSC Scale: PSC 7

1 Position

V/No: 11/2020

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry grade for Inspectors (Buildings). An officer at this level will be deployed in small unit to acquire practical experience in the various aspects of the job and will be responsible for;

(i) Repair and maintenance of buildings and associated installations including walls, joinery, masonry, architectural fittings, furniture, roofs, painting, car parking, etc

(ii) Supervision of junior staff working under him.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Inspector II (Buildings), a candidate must have attained: –

(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, C+ (plus), or its equivalent with a Minimum of C+ (plus) in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Physical Sciences and English; and

(ii) National Ordinary Diploma in Architectural, Building Construction or Civil Engineering from the Kenya National Examinations Council, or other approved equivalent qualification.
