St. Francis Community Hospital – Clinical Officer – Anaesthetist.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
- To review patients before and after surgery on a regular basis in accordance with the plan of care made and inform the in charge of any issues or problems.
- To cover theatre anaesthetic duties as assigned and to attend to emergencies when they occur.
- To contribute to quality improvement; risk management initiatives and policy development so that the overall Anaesthesia Service is of the highest quality and reflective of best practice.
- Appraise the benefit of surgery to the patient before they are operated on.
- Plan for post-operative care and management of all patients destined for operation.
- Manage the patients during the operation i.e. administer anaesthesia and monitor the patient during surgery.
- Manage all the anaesthetic appliances and machines
- Carry out resuscitation of patients and managing them thereafter.
Qualification
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery from a recognized institution.
- Must have a Higher Diploma in Anaesthesia from a recognized institution.
- BLS and ACLS training is a MANDATORY .
- Should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Anaesthetist.
- Must have professional indemnity and a valid practicing license.
