We are seeking to recruit a Community Oral Health Officer (COHO) to fill the role and to enhance the hospitals provision of dental services. The COHO will report to the Dentist and shall be assigned responsibilities as below:
Responsibilities
- Provide basic preventive dental care and oral health education to patients
- Plan and deliver community oral health outreach and screening activities
- Collaborate with hospital staff including the dentist to better the integration of oral health services into broader health programs
- Maintain records of community interventions and report on outcomes
- Raise public awareness on oral hygiene practices and disease prevention
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Community Oral Health
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in active practice in a similar role.
- Be registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist council with a good professional standing
- Computer literate with the ability to operate modern dental equipment
- communication and interpersonal skills
