Job Description

WeTu is a social enterprise operating along Lake Victoria in Nyanza region. Our mission is to improve lives in rural Kenya by creating sustainable and affordable solutions targeting key needs of rural populations. We leverage innovative technology to drive improvements in rural lives using a business approach.

We work in four areas, two of which are successful established product lines:

Water services : We provide clean and safe drinking water at an affordable price through water ATMs, and carry out sanitation and hygiene trainings to raise awareness. We are dispensing more than 500,000 litres monthly translating to reduced waterborne diseases.

Solar lanterns : Omena fishermen use our modern and safe technology, which helps them save money while having an environmentally friendly source of light while working on their boats at night, with around 5,000 lanterns circulating at the moment.

eMobility : We are currently introducing electric motorbikes charged by solar to meet the needs of rural businesses and families in a sustainable, clean and climate friendly way and solve transport challenges in the communities we work in.

eWaste : Recognizing the environmental challenges of electric waste, we recently set up eWaste collection points in our various hubs for recycling.

To deliver our products and services to our clients, we closely interact with them to understand their evolving needs and interests. We operate a hub model whereby we currently run 14 hubs across Migori, Homa Bay, Siaya and Kisumu counties. We have adopted modern state-of-the-art water filtration technology and solar equipment. The essence of our work is to provide better solutions for better lives, and provide services around mobility, clean energy, and safe water to populations at the shore of Lake Victoria.
