ICAP of Columbia University (registered in Kenya as Center for International Programs-Kenya) is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health to strengthen Public Health Initiatives in Kenya.

JOB TITLE: Finance Manager

    LOCATION: Nairobi

Overall Job Function

The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the financial aspects of the project by providing accounting, management, and logistical support to facilitate the implementation of project activities. Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Finance Manager will ensure that financial management, and contractual operations are conducted according to ICAP regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, cost principles imposed by ICAP or the funder and good business practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to Finance staff in the execution of all matters pertaining to finance in line with Standard Operating Procedures, and other applicable governing regulations
  • Liaise with the Program Director on all matters relating to finance. This includes periodic financial reports and all other reports as required by the Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensure that the procurement process is executed as per Standard Operating Procedures
  • Participate in strategic planning for the organization, and in the preparation and review of annual work plans Liaise with external auditors, and ensure that the statutory corporate requirements are adhered to as laid out by local governing rules and regulations
  • Ensure that all levels of risk the organization may be exposed to are identified and measures put in place to reduce this exposure and mitigate their effects

 Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting and CPA/ACCA
  • 10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position
  • At least 5 years’ experience managing USG-funded projects
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Knowledge of USG contracting
