Job Description
The mandate of the Board is contained in section 59 of the County Government Acts 2012. These include establishing and abolishing offices in the County Public Service, appointing persons who hold and act in offices of the Public service among others. Achievements For the time the Board has been in office it has managed to put in place critical structures to enable the County Government to operate efficiently Targets To ensure that all the Departments have adequate staff to enable them deliver services. Projects Development of appropriate policies, values , standards, systems and processes inhuman resource management and development Capacity development and management of human resource Event The Board is currently undertaking recruitment of staff for the department of public works and that of Finance and Planning. Requirements for Appointment:-
- Served in the grade of assistant director trade for a minimum period of three years;
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following field; commerce, marketing, business administration, business management, entrepreneurship, economics, international trade/business/relations or its equivalent from recognized institution;
- Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; commerce, marketing, business administration, business management, entrepreneurship, economics, international trade/business/relations or its equivalent from recognized institution;
- Certificate in strategic leadership development programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from recognized institution;
- Certificate in computer application from recognized institution;
- Demonstrated a thorough understanding of national /county goals policies and development objectives and ability to translate them in to trade development projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Guiding and supervising the implementation of county government policies, strategies and programmes on domestic trade and investment;
- Coordinating planning and administration of trade and investment functions of the county;
- Providing consultancy and technical guidance on trade issues;
- Managing business information in the county;
- Overseeing the development of wholesale hubs/whole sale markets and tier 1 retail markets in the distribution value chain;
- Facilitating the settlement of trade disputes;
- Addressing public complaints/customer care issues;
- Organizing and participating in interactive trade fora;
- Coordinate the preparation of County work plans, setting performance targets and budget estimates; and
- Guiding and supervising staff in the county
