Reporting to the Pharmaceutical Technologist, the Warehouse Assistant is a strategic role in the supplychain for
MSK. This role requires an astute and highly dependable individual who will oversee the entire supply chain,
from orders placed by the Procurement Department and warehousing to delivering materials to centers,
commercial sales and outreach teams. The Warehouse Assistant will also be responsible for processing
distribution requests, maintaining inventory, coordinating transport, maintaining databases and accurate records,
managing inventory risks, maintaining positive supplier relations, managing supplier performance, management
and disposal of obsolete items.

Responsibilities
1. Coordinate and Track Shipments
Once warehouse order requests or purchase orders are issued, it is up to Warehouse assistant to manage
the pulling and packing of materials and arrange appropriate transportation. Among the tasks that might
need to be completed in this responsibility include freight consolidation, routing, scheduling and preparing
outbound shipments ahead of delivery times. . He/She must also track shipments to ensure they arrive on
time and that shipment and delivery processes adhere to any pertinent regulations and MSK policies.
2. Manage Warehouse
The warehouse assistant is typically responsible for the storage of materials that are to be used by the field
staff, commercial sales, marketing, and outreach teams. Warehouse management duties include maintaining
inventory at both the central warehouse and Centers, ordering shipping materials, proactively informing
management and field staff of any eminent risks such as stockouts and expiries. Unloading incoming
shipments and reviewing their contents, Packing stock in a neatly organized and secure fashion while
Monitoring inventory levels to gauge restocking needs.
3. Analyse Supply Chain Systems
The Warehouse assistant must ensure that all aspects of a logistics team, such as shipping, warehousing,
and procurement, are working together to fill orders and deliver materials on a timely basis. He/she will
review all processes and systems and design and implement new plans and procedures as needed.
4. Supplier Performance Management
The Warehouse assistant will manage the performance of all the suppliers and track their performance against
contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure that quarterly and monthly performance meetings
are held in a timely manner and any actions agreed in those meetings are followed up to conclusion. The
Warehouse assistant will also be expected to track the performance of local medical suppliers (Quality and
Timely Delivery) on a monthly basis and provide feedback to the procurement staff members for decision making purposes.
5. Records Management
The warehouse assistant will manage and maintain all the accurate records that appertain to stock
movements whichare not limited to but include stock cards, inventory stock levels both at central warehouse
and centers, goods received notes, goods dispatch notes, and shall provide regular stock movement reports
preferably monthly for both purchased goods and donations to be used for updating management and
donors.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Procurement and Logistics, Business Administration or a similar field
Skills/Experience:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Inventory and Warehouse Management Software
