The mandate of the Board is contained in section 59 of the County Government Acts 2012. These include establishing and abolishing offices in the County Public Service, appointing persons who hold and act in offices of the Public service among others. Requirements for Appointment:-

• Must be a Kenyan Citizen;
• A valid class BCE driving license;
• Must have a certificate course in Electrical /Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution;
• Must have 2 years’ experience in firefighting;
• Must have a Diploma course from a recognized fire services training school/institution;
• Must be physically fit with good eye sight and excellent sense of smell.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:-

• Assisting in the firefighting operations during the actual fire- fighting exercise and during demonstrations.
• Assisting in rescue operations during emergency and other disasters.
• Operating appliances and communication equipment and citing firefighting appliances.
